Ionesco's "The Chairs" and "The Lesson" is a mini-programme within Atelier Community Theatre.
We are in the process of developing ideas for our next major production following the
success of "Peer Gynt" and in the meantime....

"Had a magical evening at the performances last night. One minute I was working in London and the next transported to a fantastical island floating around on the edge of reality, thinking impossible thoughts and catching glimpses of deep truths. Humour and pathos and imagination - a great way to wash the tensions of the day away." Marie-Louise Avery, audience member, 29 July 2011 - review on Facebook

Atelier Theatre is formed from a few of the professional actors within our midst.  Vasile Nedelcu directed David Brett, Deborah Ellis, Alison Sandford and Corin Stuart in two of Ionesco's one-act plays: "The Chairs" and "The Lesson" for performances in Sussex and at the Etcetera Theatre, Camden Town, as part of the Camden Fringe Festival in August 2011. This tiny theatre above the Oxford Arms pub is the world's smallest fringe theatre (apparently) and with only 40 seats (not to mention the ones on the stage) it was always going to be an intense experience, to say the least.  Great plays, great area. See Camden Fringe Reviews in this section to see what the audiences and critics thought.
